Comedian, actor and all-round crazy-person, Russell Brand, is currently embarking on his first ever world tour! And guess what… unlike most international performers, Russell actually seems to understand what the word ‘WORLD’ tour means… he is literally going everyyyywhere….

… except Australia. I don’t think he’s going there! WIN! Have we replaced Aus as the furtherest South that performers are willing to go now? Mwahahahahaha!

COMPETITION > Win Tickets To See Man City v Supersport Utd

I’m a tiny bit bitter while writing this, as just a few short weeks ago, Liverpool were also supposed to be making their way down to South Africa for a pre-season tour… but anyway. I’m of the opinion that any foreign teams that want to come down to SA to play our PSAL teams, can only be a good thing for SA football. Man City are also not bringing a boring reserve side down, these guys are bringing in the big boys, a proper first team side!

I must admit, i do enjoy watching Man City play, for one very specific reason, this guy >

YOH! Possibly the hottest player in the EPL, next to Steven Gerrard, of course!

5 tickets to watch Man City v Supersport at Loftus Versveld on Sunday 14th July 2013.

All you have to do is tweet: “WIN 5 tickets to see Man City v Supersport at Loftus this Sunday with @StephanieBe! Details:”

You need to be able to fetch the tickets close to Sandton City before Sunday. Specific address will be provided to the winners.

The Galileo – Competition

It’s a scene i’ve often seen in movies – people camped out on picnic blankets with glasses of wine and awesome food spreads, watching an awesome movie on a screen under the stars at some amazing venue. There’s something about watching a movie under the stars that just makes it a little more special.

The Galileo Open Air Cinema, has brought the concept to Cape Town, and with great success. They’ve used one of the most spectacular natural backdrops we have in our beautiful city – Kirstenbosch Gardens.

Running once a week (usually on Wednesday evenings), from November to April, The Galileo brings you a diversity of film genres in its magical open air setting:

1st week of the month: Documentaries

2nd week of the month: Best Foreign

3rd week of the month: Adventure Sports

4th week of the month: All-Time Classics

Gain free access into Kirstenbosch Gardens (Gate 2) from 6pm on presentation of your movie ticket and enter the Marquee Lawn area where movies are shown. They have a great selection of local food vendors, who offer everything from sandwiches to salads, pies and paellas, there is something for everyone.

You are, of course, welcome to bring your own food and drinks, as well as blankets (which i would recommend having a multitude of, as it’s getting quite cold in the evenings). You can also “rent” blankets and chairs at the venue, which saves you schlepping yours from the car 😉

NOW, this brings me to this Wednesday’s movie: LOCK, STOCK & TWO SMOKING BARRELS! I am too freaking excited!

All right, son: roll them guns up, count the money, and put your seat belt on! If you would like to win 2 x tickets to the screening of this Wednesday’s showing of Lock Stock, all you have to do is the following:
Step 1: Make sure you are following @Galileo_Cinema
Step 2: Tweet the following –
WIN tickets to see Lock, Stock & two smoking barrels at @Galileo_Cinema this Wed. Details here: via @StephanieBe
Next Wednesday’s film is: Searching For Sugarman, and tickets are already on sale!

Holi ONE Festival – Competition

Inspired by the original Holi Festival in India, Colour Festivals have travelled around the world to Germany, the USA and Singapore – and now HOLI ONE launches in South Africa for the first time!

If you’re still not quite sure what everyone is going on about – i’ve seen a couple of people on Facebook a little confused. Check the video out below:

CAPE TOWN kicks off the HOLI ONE tour on Sat 2 March, it then moves on to JHB on 6 April, Durban – your date is still to be confirmed! After the South African leg of the journey – these guys follow the Sun and head off to: Berlin, Munich, Bremen, Dusseldorf, Leipzig, Lubeck, and Munster… After that, who knows. They’ve already taken the festival to Ibiza, and Barcelona before!

Holi is a spring festival celebrated by Hindus as a festival of colours. It is primarily observed in India and Nepal but also in Bangladesh and Pakistan. It is also known as Phagwah and Festival of Colours.

The powder used at the HOLI ONE Colour Festival is completely safe, non-toxic, water soluble and environmentally friendly and is made from corn flour and food colouring. Only certified 100% natural HOLI ONE powder may be used at the festival. No powder bought outside the festival can be permitted. However, people with allergies, asthma or contact lens wearers should use mouth and/or eye protection.

Personal Advice:

– Wear sunglasses (the bigger the better)

– Keep a handy pack of baby wipes on your person

– Buy a cheap white t-shirt at Pep or wherever

You can win yourself 2 tickets to the Holi ONE Festival in Cape Town – 2 March 2013! All you have to do is make sure you follow @HOLIONESA and decide which colour you are! Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, or Pink.

Then tweet:

Hey @StephanieBe & @HOLIONESA i’d love 2 tickets to the CT festival on 2 March at the Grand Parade. I am [whatever colour you picked]!

HOLI ONE Colour Festival South Africa is brought to you by award-winning agency Seed Experiences – the company behind the hugely successful Rocking the Daisies Music & Lifestyle Festival.
