Russell Brand [Competition]

Comedian, actor and all-round crazy-person, Russell Brand, is currently embarking on his first ever world tour! And guess what… unlike most international performers, Russell actually seems to understand what the word ‘WORLD’ tour means… he is literally going everyyyywhere….

… except Australia. I don’t think he’s going there! WIN! Have we replaced Aus as the furtherest South that performers are willing to go now? Mwahahahahaha!

Join The Cuervolution

Jose Cuervo has announced the official South African tour of The Subways and Fun Lovin’ Criminals! They’ll be doing their thing in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, and will be joined by some awesome local musicians too!
Screen shot 2013-10-15 at 12.49.42 PM
According to ol’ Jose himself, the #Cuervolution is more than just a party, it’s a calling. It is where fellow music lovers, party goers and Cuervo drinkers come together to experience the essence of what a street festivity is. It’s about sharing the experiences with your mates, and meeting new ones over your favourite tequila.
SO join the #Cuervolution on the 22nd of November in Town Hall & Mills Parking Lot in Johannesburg and on the 23rd of November at Assembly & Harrington Street in Cape Town!

‘Jobs’ South Africa Premiere [Competition]

jOBS-Movie-Steve-Jobs-Ashton-KutcherIt’s almost here, the biopic that promises to give us a deeper look into the life of genius and troublemaker, and apple co-founder, Steve Jobs. I would imagine that the movie has quite a large reach, with tech geeks, entrepreneurs, Apple enthusiasts and maybe even people looking for inspiration all keen to find out how Jobs got his start.

The movie spans quite a large period in Jobs’ life… from his early hippie days, all way to the release of the first iPod in 2001. It’s a large time frame to cover, so you can imagine that it glosses over some chapters of his life…. but for the most part, apparently it’s a great “summary” rather than a detailed blow by blow of everything significant thing that he ever did or hat happened to him.

130815123006-steve-jobs-movie-garage-horizontal-galleryJust Play are hosting the Premiere of “Jobs” this Thursday night at Sandton City, and i have a double ticket to give away. They’ve also let me know that there will be loads of prizes/giveaways on the night, so you never know what you might come away with.

If you’re keen to attend the premiere of Jobs here in South Africa, all you have to do to enter is tweet the following:

Colour Me Crazy [COMPETITION]

Unlike the many colour festivals and colour runs that have become increasingly popular over recent months, Colour Me Crazy prides itself on the combination of both elements – with a 5km colour run, with blasts of colour powder at each kilometre, followed by a killer music festival.

The impressive line-up includes performances by Mi Casa, Locnville, Dean Fuel, Roger Goode, Household Funk and Crazy White Boy who will be keeping energies high, even after the 5km fun run beforehand!

Individuals of all age are welcome to join in on the fun! Kids 6 and under run for free and there will be a designated kids play area with plenty of child minders to keep the tots busy. For the older crowds there will be designated bar areas to grab drinks.

For more details on the Festival as well as FAQ’s visit the website at or email

Date – 21st September

Venue – Riversands Farm, Joburg North

Tequila In The City

This year i’m pretty fucking bummed that i can’t make it down to Rocking The Daisies… but at least i have Vodacom In The City 2013 to heal my broken heart.

It’s essentially the same line-up, except; one night only, and minus the camping part. Apparently this year they’re pulling out all the stops, and the extra-super-good news is that Jose Cuervo himself will be there!

If you didn’t know this already, Mr Cuervo is a freaking legend, so he’s giving away an epic amount of tickets! Entering is super simple. Check their Facebook Page: Jose Cuervo Facebook Comp.

Don’t forget to keep an eye on their Twitter account @JoseCuervoSa and follow the hashtag #PartyAnimals for more awesome news announced closer to the time and during the event 😉

Who knows… i might even have a couple more surprises up my sleeve, thanks to Ol’ Jose.

Essential Bastille

I’m sure by now you’ve heard the good news! Bastille are heading to S.A early January 2014. These guys released one of the best albums of 2013 by far (Bad Blood), if you haven’t got a copy, get one!

If you aren’t a Bastille convert just yet… some of their best work isn’t only on the album. I’ve been obsessing over this first video for quite some time now, and the others have already been added to my personal playlist.

You can buy tickets to see Bastille live in Cape Town & JHB here: Webtickets
