MISSING! Help Find This Bunny!

Well, technically it isn’t missing… but we really do need to find a rabbit like this one. Twitter dude, @6000, has a friend whose son is going in for some pretty serious radiation therapy. After which this bunny will have to be incinerated. They are desperately trying to find another one like it. ASAP.

This is a super traumatic experience for anybody to go through, and if you’ve ever had a family member or a friend go through radiation therapy – you know how hectic it can be. This little guy is going to be stuck in quarantine ALL ALONE for 3 days… jeez, i couldn’t even go to the kitchen alone when i was a kiddie. This little bunny will be the only companion he’ll have while he’s going through the procedure & unfortunately the bunny will have to go bye-bye afterwards :/

This is what the dad had to say on Facebook:

Sorry to post this again but apparently it isn’t sharing….

Nic is going for his Radiated Iodine therapy very soon and will be in isolation for up to 3 days , after which his PJ’s and bedding will be incinerated. He will feel better with Rabbit (pictured) but unfortunately he will be incinerated too! We are desperately trying to find the same rabbit to act as a body double! He was bought at Woolies about 10 years ago. If anybody has one like this , I will happily buy it from you! please let me know…..we know Nic is always brave with his team mate!

I believe that the internet is more than just sarcastic tweets, porn and pics of funny cats… we’re a community, especially here in SA… so please SHARE, RT, Copy and paste the pic on your Facebook/Twitter/wherever… Someone, somewhere has to have one that they’re willing to sell. Let me know if you find one!

Thank you so much for all the shares/retweets/posts over the past few days, we found not one, not two, but 4 rabbits for Nic! This proves that social media is more than just a form of communication between strangers, it’s a community. We’re also a pretty great bunch here in South Africa and we seem to understand that there are actual humans behind those profile pictures on our computer screens. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Here is Nic:

  1. going to reblog this… also: i have a similar bunny… not the same though, will tweet you a pic, if he could replace this bunny then i am certain that after all these years with me he would be very happy to make someone else happy from now on

  2. My Daughter also has a very sentimental attachment to her bunny so i can relate. I will share and hopefully someone has the body double 🙂

Keeping the family in my thoughts and prayers!

  3. Maybe the bunny could ‘have a baby’ that will be ready to be collected from the hospital maternity ward when your son is discharged. My granddaughters soft toys are always having babies that are then cuddled and pushed around in the pram, etc.

  4. I’ve been thinking of you all weekend, and this week. Has a bunny been found? Please keep us updated. Hoping all goes well.
